Implementing the global digital leadership strategy, ABB Electrical Equipment LLC decided to increase its share of high-tech finished products in Lipetsk.
The Lipetsk plant of the Swiss concern ABB with an area of 7,000 m2 and $ 20 million invested into the project, was commissioned in the Lipetsk Special Economic Zone in 2015.
Initially, it was focused on manufacturing enclosures for low-voltage complete devices; the production of medium-sized complete switchgears was established in 2017.
In February 2019, ABB adopted a global development strategy concentrated on building up the group's leadership in digital solutions.
Following this strategy, in 2020 the ABB Lipetsk factory will place greater focus on products with high-added value: medium-voltage cells SafeRing and UniGear, and in the future – on other types of high-tech equipment.
The competencies of the local plant engineering center will also be strengthened on mastering the switchgear design.
