Studying the investment potential of the Volga Federal District

Members of the National Association of Investment and Development Agencies (NAID) were invited to the Ulyanovsk region. A month earlier a delegation of representatives from different regions of Russia came to the Lipetsk region, then Yakutia. About 30 members of the NAID went to Ulyanovsk to study the investment potential of the Volga Federal District and exchange experiences. Lipetsk region was represented by Mikhail Putilin, the Head of the Regional Development of the Investment Development Agency.

The first point of acquaintance with Ulyanovsk was an industrial wind farm. Wind replenishes approximately 8% of the region's energy needs. In addition, the park makes a significant contribution to climate protection, which allows the Ulyanovsk region to remain among the leaders of Russian wind energy.

The guests were also shown the work of Zavolzhye Industrial Park and the Port Special Economic Zone. As of today, investors from Russia, Germany, USA, Japan, Mexico, France and Turkey work in Zavolzhye.

Another point of the industrial tour of the Ulyanovsk region was the plant "AeroComposite-Ulyanovsk", which products are used in the manufacture of the MS-21 aircraft. This is the only enterprise in Russia for the production of the power composite constructions by the method of vacuum infusion, and it is among the three best factories of the world for the production of aircraft wings.

"It is always interesting to study the experience of colleagues. Russia is a huge country, and each region has interesting aspects in work. Partners from Ulyanovsk shared their practice of attracting and supporting investment projects. Basically the nuances of our work are similar, but it was important to learn how certain issues or problems are solved. Of course, everyone was struck by the wind farm. I hope that we will also be able to use this method of power generation in the near future," said Mikhail Putilin, Head of the Regional Development Department of the Investment Development Agency of Lipetsk Region.
