The head of the region Igor Artamonov met today at business breakfast with representatives of the Association of European business and SEZ "Lipetsk" residents, discussing prospects for cooperation and stages of development of the special economic zone.
"Today we are waiting for the investors whose projects meet three criteria: environmental friendliness, social responsibility and corporate governance. Our advantages are logistics and infrastructure and we want to develop localization in such way that one company would supply another company with products, not by delivering them somewhere to Siberia, but simply by moving between the factories of the special economic zone," Igor Artamonov said.
Currently, more than ten companies-members of the Association of European Businesses work in the SEZ "Lipetsk": ABB, PPG, Lanxess, Cargill, Syngenta, KWS, Whirpool, Viessmann, Schlumberger, Bekaert, Bayer.
SEZ Lipetsk is a member of the Association as well.
"We have been cooperating with the Lipetsk region for a long time. Recently we saw Igor Artamonov at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, but despite the fact we had little time, we solved many issues on the spot. This is a specialty of your region and the reason why so many foreign companies choose your site," said Tadzio Schilling, Director General of the AEB.
Further on, the participants of the meeting talked about the existing programs and instruments of state support for production localization.
"We offer to investors tax benefits, develop the infrastructure of the special economic zone. We are ready to support initiators of projects aimed at localization and to represent their interests at the federal level," noted Igor Artamonov.
