This year the KWS company will launch a modern plant on the Elets site of SEZ "Lipetsk". The plant will produce sugar beet seeds.
The head of the Lipetsk region, Igor Artamonov, held a meeting with the investors today. The parties discussed the terms of the project and the prospects for cooperation.
"The Lipetsk region has been cooperating with your company for many years, - said Igor Artamonov. - As you know, sugar beet is a strategic crop for our region. Moreover, this year we are expanding the areas under crops. I hope our agrarians will be satisfied with cooperation with you".
KWS became a resident in November 2018. The official opening of the plant is scheduled for the summer of 2022.
Investments in the project are 25 million euros, and 50 workplaces will be created at the enterprise. The planned production volume is 650 thousand seed units of sugar beet seeds per year.
