Today the governor of the Lipetsk region Igor Artamonov together with the Special Economic Zone CEO Roman Petrukhin and Oleg Prozorov, the head of the Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, gave the official start to the construction of the bead wire production shop at the Bekaert Lipetsk plant.
Since its opening in 2010, the Bekaert Lipetsk plant is specialized in metal cord production for the automotive industry and Dramix® steel fibers for the construction industry. The installation of a new bead wire production line will enable the creation of a full line of products for reinforcing automobile tires. The scope of investment exceeds 1.7 billion rubles. The launch of production is scheduled for the first quarter of 2022 and will allow to create 80 new jobs.
Expansion of production in Lipetsk will also allow the Bekaert team to provide maximum value to its customers and support the increase in production by tire manufacturers in Russia, the CIS region, as well as to act as an export platform for the European countries.
