Italy’s Ambassador Appreciated Investment Potential of Lipetsk SEZ

On 15 March 2019, a delegation of Italian businessmen headed by Italy’s Ambassador Pasquale Terracciano visited the Lipetsk SEZ as part of the Italian-Russian Business Forum. The delegation was also joined by Igor Artamonov, Acting Governor of the Lipetsk Region, Vittorio Torrembini, Honorary Consulate of Italy in the Lipetsk Region, regional authorities and businessmen. The guests were presented the investment potential of the Lipetsk SEZ and took a look at its well-developed engineering infrastructure, construction in progress and operating facilities. During the visit, businessmen from Lipetsk and Italy held B2B talks and had a tour around Fondital’s production facility. According to Valeria Niboli, General Director of Fondital, a groundbreaking ceremony took place in 2015. Already in 2018, the facility was completed and commissioned into operation. The new plant is expected to produce 3 million cast aluminum radiators and 30,000 wall-mounted boilers per annum. The initial goal was to integrate the Made in Italy philosophy into the plant’s production and quality principles.
Then the Italian businessmen were demonstrated production achievements of SEST LUVE (three construction phases completed), ALU-PRO (two construction phases completed) and Fenzi. It should be noted that Italian companies were the first tenants of the special economic zone.
Total investments made by Italian tenants of the Lipetsk SEZ amounted to RUB 3.9 billion.
Currently, the Lipetsk SEZ hosts 65 companies. Lipetsk SEZ tenants in numbers:
• RUB 196.6 billion in planned investments
• RUB 61.2 billion in investments actually made
• 4,170 new jobs
• RUB 87.8 billion in products
• RUB 12.4 billion in taxes and customs duties.
