On 10 April 2019, tenants were joined by representatives of Quality Partners, a law firm, at a business breakfast held in the Lipetsk SEZ to discuss legal cases and other matters related to license agreements.
Irina Saaduyeva, Vice President at Quality Partners, commented on current laws, a new look at parallel imports, and license agreements as a copyright protection tool.
Accounting Expert Olga Voronina spoke about the methodology for calculation of license fees and associated taxes, tax risk categories, and current laws.
Tenants’ representatives asked many questions about the customs clearance procedure, control by customs authorities, maintenance of trademark owners’ rights, and inclusion of license payments in the customs value.
At the end, the tenants mentioned that this meeting was very important for them since they all were concerned with brand safety matters.
