On 5 March 2019, representatives of the Mogilev Free Economic Zone and Dmitry Mudrogelov, First Deputy Chairman of the Economy Committee of the Mogilev Region Executive Office, visited the Lipetsk SEZ to share their best practices.
The guests from Belarus were interested in the infrastructure development and production digitalization above all. First of all, the visitors took a tour around the Lipetsk SEZ territory to see its infrastructure and production facilities. The delegation had a look at the grid control center that controls the Lipetsk SEZ’s utility network. The operators of the grid control center are responsible for monitoring and remote operation of the utility systems around the clock, and processing of applications for maintenance and connection to the grid. Then they visited a new 220 kW substation. The new substation features cutting edge power equipment and advanced technologies and meets the strictest safety requirements. It has enough capacity to satisfy future needs and continuously growing power demand. It should be noted that, when selecting a site for manufacturing facilities, investors consider both the grid control center and the substation to be great competitive advantages of the Lipetsk SEZ .
The Lipetsk SEZ Management Company told the representatives of the Mogilev FEZ that last December the Russian special economic zones had established an expert council to approve investment plans and tenancy applications in a digital format. Not long ago, it took investors three months to get the tenant status, while now this process takes about 10 days. The new accelerated procedure was praised by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and is now being adopted by other special economic zones.
At the end of the visit, the representatives of the Mogilev FEZ and the Lipetsk SEZ signed a cooperation agreement to support companies from their respective regions in establishing joint ventures and carrying out their investment projects.
