 The Lipetsk special economic zone keeps functioning with exceptional effectiveness, investing in development of its infrastructure. Last month, technical conditions for the connection of gas pipeline and gas distribution station on the Elets site were issued to SEZ Lipetsk. The investment of about 200 million rubles into construction will allow to increase the capacity of the mentioned gas pipeline up to 30 thous. cubic meters / hour. As a result of these activities, the number of SEZ residents is constantly growing. In February, two companies have got a certificate of a resident status of the SEZ Lipetsk. The UNIONSPED company is implementing a 200 million rubles investment project for the production of lumber, joinery and pellets. Commissioning of the first stage is scheduled for January 2022.

 The resident "August" will build a logistics and distribution center with over 20 thousand pallet spaces for plant protection products for Lipetsk agro-industrial enterprises and neighboring regions. The volume of investments exceeds 500 million rubles.

 As for the “Industry” sector, most of the messages are related to NLMK. In February, NLMK completed a large-scale environmental modernization of the blast furnace No. 4, which capacity is of 2.1 million tons of pig iron. In accordance with the project, amounted to more than 23 billion rubles, all the dust generated during the metal production process will be captured by a highly efficient gas cleaning system.  In addition, innovative digital technologies are being lately introduced in the region. In 2020, 611 substations were equipped with modern automated electricity metering systems (AEMS). This year, another 301 low-voltage power supply centers shall be equipped with AEMS.



 It is worth noting, that digital technologies are coming to the rural areas of the region as well. Rostelecom has completed the third stage of the project "Digitalization of rural settlements". Modern communication services using CPON technology have become available to residents of more than 10 thousand households in nine districts of the region. To do that, the company's specialists laid more than 200 kilometers of fiber.

 In the housing, utilities and infrastructure sector, Rostelecom has launched a monitoring system for collection, removal and disposal of solid household waste (SHW) for the OBU "Center for Management of Solid Municipal Waste of the Lipetsk Region". The solution helps the customer to set up own scenario for monitoring garbage collection sites and adjacent territories, as well as for participants in the process of removing household waste. The service is developed on the federal cloud platform "Video Surveillance", which uses machine vision algorithms by Rostelecom.
