On 16 February 2019, Lipetsk hosted a sports competition between corporate teams. According to the tradition, employees of the Lipetsk SEZ took part in the opening ceremony and a ski race at the start of the event.
The winners of a 2 km race for men and a 1 km race for women were Alexei Chernetsov and Yulia Sazonova, both working at the Lipetsk SEZ Management Company.
Throughout the year, work teams will compete in swimming, volleyball, darts, athletics, futsal, chess, ping-pong, skiing and fitness tests known as GTO (Ready for Labor and Defense).
The Lipetsk SEZ Management Company’s team has won numerous sports competitions. Each year the Lipetsk SEZ team takes part in the Belgian Cup, a football competition run by Belgian tenant Bekaert. The Management Company also organizes the Lipetsk SEZ Cup annual ping-pong championship. In 2019, the Lipetsk SEZ approved the regulation on supporting and encouraging employees that lead a healthy lifestyle as part of the National Physical Activity and Sports Promotion Program.
