DOKA opens production in Lipetsk Special Economic Zone

On 3 July last year, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for Doka’s Russian-based factory on a 6 ha land plot in the Lipetsk Special Economic Zone. About a year later, on 4 September 2019, the production was officially launched. DOKA Lipetsk, a new subsidiary of Doka GmbH, became the company’s first division outside the European Union. “Doka’s modern formwork factory in Russia is yet another step towards promising and mutually beneficial cooperation aimed at introducing sophisticated technologies and promoting investments in local hi-tech industries,” Andrey Gusev, General Director of DOKA Lipetsk, says with certainty. The 3,500 sq m production facility delivers formwork solutions to Russia and other markets with similar standards and requirements. By the next year, the company’s output will gradually reach 65.000 sq m of formwork. The new production site will make Doka much more competitive in Russia and allow the company to unlock the market potential, especially in housing and commercial construction. “Our facility in Lipetsk is the first meaningful step towards local production and sustainable development, helping us become more independent and competitive,” says Manfred Jungwirth, Director for Director for Production Business Development at Doka GmbH. DOKA Lipetsk has become a part of Doka’s Production Division and its third formwork manufacturing site after Amstetten, Austria. One of the factors behind choosing the Lipetsk Special Economic Zone was its good infrastructure which allows setting up production easily and delivering goods across Russia. “Today, the Russian construction market needs cost efficient solutions that will be embodied in our new formwork system,” says Boris Ukhov, General Director of DOKA RUS. “It combines the 150-year experience of Doka’s global market leadership and 20-year experience of Doka experts in Russia. We are happy to offer our partners a product that is fully made to Austrian technologies and even more cost-efficient.” ReForma Standard plus: an up-and-comer on the formwork market Starting from the second half of 2019, Doka’s new production site manufactures ReForma Standard plus, a steel frame formwork product that is first and foremost designed for the Russian market. ReForma Standard plus is intended for building vertical in-situ reinforced concrete structures, e.g. walls, columns and wells, and is a cost-efficient formwork solution for housing and commercial construction. DOKA RUS presented the new product at Moscow’s Bauma CTT, the main event for Russia’s construction industry. Customers and visitors had a chance to pick up the skills of operating the system and see Russia’s WorldSkills team doing it at Doka’s booth. A few months earlier, in April, ReForma Standard plus was demonstrated at Bauma in Munich.
