Lipetsk Special Economic Zone Hosted Italian Business Forum

On 15 February 2017, the Lipetsk Special Economic Zone welcomed a delegation of Italian businessmen led by Italy's Ambassador to Russia Cesare Maria Ragaglini. The delegates represented more than 20 companies from different industries.
During the visit, businessmen from Lipetsk and Italy held B2B talks to establish new business contacts and find new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships.
The honored guests were taken on a tour round the Special Economic Zone to have a look at the tenants’ production facilities under construction or already in operation. The Italian Embassy in Russia was informed of unique investment opportunities offered by the special economic zone, including a new site of the Lipetsk SEZ near the town of Yelets.
After the tour, Cesare Maria Ragaglini, Italy’s Ambassador to Russia, Ivan Koshelev, General Director of Lipetsk SEZ, and Anatoly Goltsov, President of Lipetsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry, took part in the plenary session organized in the administrative building of the Lipetsk SEZ.
At the end of the business mission, the Italian delegates thanked authorities of the Lipetsk Region for a chance to share their expertise with Lipetsk businesses and establish necessary contacts with local industrial companies.
It should be noted that Italian businesses were the first foreign investors in the region, with three factories long operating on the Lipetsk SEZ site near the town of Gryazi. At the opening of the new site in Yelets, Vittorio Torrembini, Vice President of the Association of Italian Businesses in Russia, made an official statement that a number of Italian companies were ready to build their production facilities on the site.
