Lipetsk Special Economic Zone awarded two nominations in Global Free Zones of the Year by fDi Magazine

Global Free Zones of the Year is released every October by fDi Magazine (a publication by The Financial Times). The award identifies and acknowledges the most promising free economic zones internationally.
In 2018 Lipetsk Special Economic Zone was awarded nominations for Expansions and Infrastructure Upgrades.
Infrastructure Upgrades award is attributable to a big milestone of Lipetsk SEZ in 2018 – on the 12th anniversary since its establishment back in 2006 all of the infrastructural works were completed at one of the SEZ sites – Gryazi stage as large as 1024 he. Lipetsk project is the first among other industrial SEZs to fully equip the whole stage area.
The Gryazi site infrastructure includes power substations with the total capacity exceeding 300 MW, piped-gas network, water supply and sewage network, road and railways connections, communication lines, business centres, a major Engineering Monitoring Centre, etc. The ready-to-use infrastructure gives tenants opportunities to significantly cut costs and increase operation efficiency.
The conditions provided allowed a row of SEZ tenant companies to celebrate big leaps in capacities and major expansions in 2018. Among them one would find a few truly global names like ABB, OBO Bettermann, Bekaert.

Currently, the proportion of public and private investments in Lipetsk SEZ is 1:6 RUB.
It is the 4d time Lipetsk SEZ has won fDi GFZs of the Year prizes.
