On June 29, 2016 Lipetsk Special Economic Zone was receiving very special guests – a delegation from Moscow Research and Test Cosmonaut Training Centre led by the chief of the centre Colonel Yury Lonchakov. The cosmonauts earlier came to Lipetsk Region to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the first human to journey into outer space on 12 April 1961.

The 4th Development Award Ceremony was held on June 17 during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2016 where Lipetsk Special Economic Zone was pronounced the winner in the nomination “The Best Infrastructure Project 2016”.

At the time when big carmakers like GM are hastily fleeing the country some Chinese automotive companies have already given up the Russian market leaving their disappointed consumers behind. With this a fact, LIFAN ambitions and achievements in Russia look even more remarkable.

New opportunities for agricultural machinery and equipment producers were offered by Lipetsk Special Economic management at the International Poultry Breeders Forum on May 24th 2016. More than 300 attendees represent agricultural sector of Russia and other CIS states.

On April 29, 2016 at the Expert Council meeting in the Ministry of Economy 3 more investment projects were approved to be implemented in Lipetsk Special Economic Zone. Another 2 operating SEZ tenants were applying for existing projects expansion. The joint worth of all the investment application submitted exceeds 18 bn.rub.

On April 25, 2016 Mr. Ulrich Bettermann flew to Lipetsk to oversee how OBO team in Lipetsk Special Economic Zone are going through the wrap-up preparations for the factory launch scheduled for the upcoming September.
